Xmas Provisional Surcharge

Due to Italian activity on the Libyan boarder additional troops were sent to Egypt in 1935 and although just over 100,000 camel 3m stamps were printed a shortage occurred. While waiting for a second printing of the camel stamp a provisional surcharge was issued of 10,000 stamps of the 1pi letter stamp overprinted, "Xmas 1935 / 3 Milliémes" of which all but 80 were sold.
