Q18 June 19, 2006    non member Straits of Messina Bottle Post I am endeavouring to find any information about a cover in my collection with a cachet "Straits of Messina Bottle Post". It is from a Khedivial Line ship, the SS El Malek Fuad in 1951 and has an Italian TPO mark cancellation. I have found nothing in our own Journal, that of our sister US publication Seaposter, nor has the Italy Study Circle been able to cast any light on it. I raise it with you purely because of the shipping line connection in the hope one of your members may be able to help. I look forward to hearing from anyone in due course.
