The Egypt Study Circle was founded in 1935 - one of the first of the specialist single-country philatelic research groups - by the late Dr William Byam and 23 other enthusiastic students of stamps and postal history of Egypt and the Sudan.
Today there are some 170 members world-wide, in 22 countries. We have Agents in Egypt, the Antipodes and North America.
The Circle holds face to face meetings in and around London, usually devoted to a single topic, such as Hotel Postmarks, Airmails of Egypt, or the De La Rue Issues, and Zoom meetings re hosted from London and North America. The best way to increase one's knowledge and interest in Egyptian philately is to attend these meetings.
Auctions of Egyptian stamps, postal history and ephemera are held twice a year. The Auctions are not open to non-members.
We have an active Facebook page with close to 1,000 members as well as the newly restored website at egyptstudycircle.org.uk, and we publish a digital magazine, The Quarterly Circular, and members are encouraged to contribute articles and notes.
